In order that we may enjoy the holidays with our family and pets, Atlanta Metro Guinea Pig Rescue will be closed beginning December 14, 2009 through January 5, 2010. Applications received and approved on or before December 10, 2009 will still be able to set appointments for adoption during the above period. Any applications received after the 10th will be processed after January 5th.

Surrenders will not be accepted during this period. Please contact us after the 5th of January if you have a pig(s) in need of rescuing. Again, if you have already contacted the rescue about a surrender and have received an answer, those pigs will still be taken in once a cage is empty and we have the room.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

Effective immediately, Atlanta Metro Guinea Pig Rescue will only adopt out to families within a one hour radius of the rescue. The only exceptions to this will be former adopters in good standing and respected Guinea Lynx members.

We realize the number of rescues in the southeast is few and far between and we are sorry for any inconvenience. It is necessary for this policy simply because we do not have the manpower to do home checks any further away than this. If you fall outside of this area, please contact your local shelter or animal control to inquire about adoption.
