We would prefer volunteers have their own transportation and be old
enough to be given instructions and left to do the job. Cavy experience is also a plus, as nail
trimming, weighing and socializing are important parts of getting the pigs
ready for adoption and keeping them healthy while they are here. Volunteers are expected to act responsibly
around the pigs, not be opposed to cage cleaning and getting dirty, and be on time.
If you have a child that wants to help here are other ways
they can make a difference:
- Collecting items needed (see list below) at their school or daycare
- Inviting AMGPR to their school or daycare for an educational visit
- Hosting a fundraising event at school or daycare
Items needed:
- Large towels (no kitchen or hand towels, please)
- Distilled White Vinegar
- 1 yard increments of fleece (anti-pill, solid colors are best)
- 13 gallon garbage bags (kitchen sized)
- Grocery store gift cards to buy veggies and
fruits for the rescue pigs
